Accreditation\u00a0alludes to the certification given by\u00a0NAAC\u00a0which is valid for a period of 5 years. It conducts assessment and\u00a0accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) like colleges, universities, or other recognized institutions to\u00a0derive an understanding of the \u2018Quality Status\u2019 of the institution.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

NAAC evaluates the institutions for their\u00a0conformance to the standards of quality in terms of its performance related to the educational processes and\u00a0outcomes, curriculum coverage, teaching-learning processes, faculty, research, infrastructure, learning resources,\u00a0organization, governance, financial well being, and student services.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Education plays a crucial role in the progress of any nation. The NAAC has been established to facilitate the volunteering institutions to assess their performance vis-\u00e0-vis set parameters through introspection and a process that provides space for participation of the institution.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The two foremost eligibility criteria for universities to apply for NAAC Accreditation are (1) the age of the institution must be 6 years or more, and (2) the institution must have at least two batches of graduated\/passed out students. There are seven NAAC\u2019s Assessment standards for Accreditation (1) curricular aspects, (2) teaching-learning evaluation, (3) research, consultancy and extension, (4) infrastructure and learning resources, (5) innovations and best practices, (6) governance, leadership and management, and (7) student support and progression.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
