Overview of NEET UG Exam 2025

In India, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the competitive National Eligibility Entrance Test or NEET for undergraduates. It serves as the entry point for many undergraduate medical programs in India, such as MBBS, BDS, and other related science courses. Every year, the National Testing Agency conducts the NEET UG exam for MBBS and BDS programs. Significantly, a registration is required prior to appearing for the NEET Exam 2025.

It is suggested that candidates review the eligibility requirements before completing the NEET application form. Candidates will be able to obtain their NEET exam admit card after registration. It is recommended that candidates review the NEET syllabus to prepare adequately for the exam. The results will be made public by the NTA (National Testing Agency) soon after the exam is over. NEET UG Exam 2025 Highlights

Those who wish to enroll in MBBS and BDS programs in India must appear for the National Eligibility Entrance Test, also known as NEET UG. Every year, the NEET UG exam is conducted offline for the duration of three hours and twenty minutes. Through NEET-UG, students can get admission in medical and paramedical courses such as MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing, BAMS, veterinary, and others. Over 24 lakh students took the NEET exam last year. Eligibility Criteria for NEET Registration 2025

Before NEET Registration 2025, candidates who wish to appear for the NEET exam should review the eligibility requirements. Nationality, age restrictions, and educational background are among the criteria that determine NEET UG eligibility.

Nationality: To be eligible to appear for the NEET UG 2025, candidates must hold one of the following nationalities:

  • Indian citizen
  • Non-Resident Indian (NRI)
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
  • Person of Indian Origin (PIO)
  • International citizen

Age Limit:

Candidates must be at least 17 years of age or have attained the age of 17 years as of December 31 of the year of admission.

Number of Attempts: There is no specific limit on the number of attempts, but the candidate must meet the age criteria.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be graduates with a Class 12 diploma or its equivalent from a recognized institute or board.
  • If candidates who are appearing for their Class 12 boards or equivalent in 2024, they can also apply for NEET.
  • Candidates who have graduated from an open school with a Class 12 diploma or its equivalent are also eligible.

The required subjects include:

  • Candidates must have completed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in Class 12 or its equivalent.
  • Applicants who have taken biology as an additional subject in their 12th or higher classes are also eligible.

NEET Registration 2025

The NEET 2025 registration process will be available online. The enrollment dates for the 2025 session have not yet been announced by the NTA (National Testing Agency).

NEET Application Fees (Category Wise):

  • General (Rs. 1700)
  • SC/ST or Person with Disability – Rs. 1000
  • OBC— 1600
  • Candidates outside India: 9500

NEET Admit Card

Candidates are required to provide a printed copy of their NEET UG admit card at the exam venue. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall without their hall pass. NEET hall passes will likely be made available by NTA three days before the exam day. It is recommended that candidates download their hall pass and carefully review all the information provided. Candidates are required to immediately inform the NTA officials if they find any discrepancy or error. NEET Exam Date 2025 is yet to be announced.

NEET 2025 Exam Syllabus

The NEET 2025 Exam Syllabus consists of three courses:

  • Biology (Botany and Zoology)
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

Since the exam questions will come from these three subjects, candidates must have a good understanding of these from class 10 to 12. It is recommended that candidates review the NEET syllabus thoroughly before starting their preparation.

NEET Exam Pattern 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has created the NEET 2025 exam format. 200 multiple-choice objective-style questions covering various areas including physics, chemistry, and biology (which are also divided into botany and zoology) form the question paper as per the NEET exam format. 4 marks will be given and 1 mark will be deducted in NEET Exam. The arrangement of NEET Exam 2025 is a total of 180 questions with 720 marks.

Minimum marks required to qualify for NEET UG

  • General category: 50 percent
  • PWD category: 45 percent
  • SC/ST/OBC: 40 percent

NEET Test Date

The NEET Test Date will be announced over the official website. NEET 2025 exam date will likely be scheduled on the first Sunday of May 2025.

NEET Result

On the official website, candidates will be able to view their NEET results. The NTA also releases the names of the top scorers, their scores, and the NEET category-specific cutoff scores in addition to the results. The student’s name, roll number, overall percentile, All India Rank, qualifying status, and cutoff scores are also included on the scorecard. NEET Exam Date 2025 will be announced on the official website.
