If you are confused for choosing a college then there are a few things you can introspect before you arrive at a decision. The decision for the same can be taken through inputs from your parents, peers and relatives who have knowledge about the same. Before you do anything else, sit down and ask yourself a few questions. As for what you want to get out of institution can be more complicated, but it narrows down to your academic interests and extra curricular or interest in sports.

In case of choosing a college, the first thing which crosses ones mind is the course you wish to pursue. You can make a list of all the colleges offering the course.  Compare them through various websites available like Shiksha.com, Collegeduniya.com, etc. you can Google the details of those colleges and see the reviews and rating. Details of the teachers, affiliations, awards and rankings, placements, USPs, training and internships etc., are available online to compare either on official websites or social media pages.

If financial restrictions are a hurdle, you can choose between a pubic and a private college. Costs are normally lower for public universities, but some private institutions do offer generous fiscal aid. Look for institutes that have strong merit- predicated aid programs and offer scholarships.

Infrastructural facilities are also a big lookout. Good classrooms, labs, libraries, playgrounds, sports facilities, canteens, hostels etc help you narrow down your choices.

If you have interest in extra curricular activities then you can also go through the various activities organised by the institutions you have shortlisted. Visit the social media pages which highlight the institution’s extra curricular activities and showcase the clubs etc. which might interest you. Similarly in case of interest I sports, if you wish to pursue any particular sport, you can shortlist the college which offer that sport and have adequate facilities to pursue the sport.
