Vidyarambh 2026: IIMT Group of Colleges Concluded Orientation Week for New Batches across Greater Noida Campuses
IIMT Group of Colleges successfully concluded its annual orientation programme, Vidyarambh 2026, on August 21st across all of its colleges in Greater Noida. The orientation week, which commenced on the 18th of August 2006, witnessed the official start of the academic year for all students in the engineering, management, pharmacy, science and technology, polytechnic and law programmes. The central theme for the week-long orientation was the Sanskrit aphorism ‘Gyan Param Dhanam’.

Vidyarambh 2026 was the formal introduction, during which students granted admission by the IIMT Group of Colleges were inducted into the institution. ‘Vidyarambh’ means the beginning of study, and with that aim, students pursuing their first-year course at IIMT were introduced to campus life, rules to be followed, expectations from students by faculty members, and the overall institutional philosophy of ‘Aim for Excellence’, an objective with which IIMT, a group of 7 colleges, has pursued higher education in the last 31+ years. The induction programme, rather than being a one-day affair, was extended to a full week, during which the students and parents of each IIMT-affiliated college were called for separate orientation programmes according to their respective programmes. Hence, students and parents were able to receive a general understanding of the respective colleges and the streams of study their ward would pursue.
Purpose and Structure of the Orientation Programme
Vidyarambh 2026’s foremost aspiration has been to ease the transition of young students from school/undergrad to academic rigour. Usually, an orientation session involves welcoming new students, detailing the college’s academic calendar, outlining the curriculum structure in consonance with the affiliating university’s regulations, and familiarising them with the institutional infrastructure, such as libraries, laboratories, and placement centres.
During the orientation sessions, faculty highlighted the university’s expectations from students regarding attendance, academic ethics and the methods of the continuous assessment process mandated as per the affiliation with Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) for B. Tech and Management programmes and Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCS University) for certain undergraduate courses. The aspect of affiliation with renowned universities, besides AICTE approval and credentials under accrediting agencies such as NAAC and NBA, being prominently highlighted, served as reassurance to the young student community and their parents about the genuineness of the courses.
Apart from academic guidance, students were given information about hostel accommodation, transport services, campus security measures, the student grievance redressal system, and various student support cells that contribute to the holistic growth of the promising students on campus, many of them living away from home for the first time. The presence of senior faculty and mentors in numerous sessions was part of a strategy aimed at helping junior students integrate within the student peer network.
Institutional Leadership and Messaging
Managing Director of IIMT Group of Colleges, Dr. Mayank Agarwal, highlighted these during the orientation of its new students, a tradition in the six institutions that has been more or less followed since 1994.
